As well as several years of singing and leading worship at festivals like Newday and Soul Survivor under his belt, Sam Cox has travelled the globe playing keyboards for many of the worlds most renowned worship leaders and artists, as well as taking the helm as a producer, notably for Lou Fellingham’s 2014 release ‘Fascinate’. Now Sam and his wife Becki are songwriting, travelling and leading worship together, with dates across the UK and around the world in the coming year.
‘I Believe’ is an EP of songs aimed at the heart of the congregational worship genre, collating some of the songs that are already firm favourites, with new songs featuring co-writes with Matt Redman, Nick Herbert, and Chris Eaton.
Sam and Becki are clear about their approach; “We felt clear going into this that we wanted to write songs that churches can really sing, and worship teams can really grapple with. The church is a place where music and singing unite so many people groups and generations, that’s one of the strengths of the ‘hymn’ that perhaps we’re in danger of losing by creating ever-more niche musical approaches to congregational worship. That’s definitely informed the focus for us in this EP”.
